What is cold-process?
Cold Process Soap making is created by combining oils with sodium hydroxide (Lye). This combination causes a chemical reaction through a process known as "saponification". Once the saponification process is complete, each loaf is left on a curing rack to cure for 4-6 weeks.
How long does it take for cold-process soaps to be available?
Once soap has been cut, curing is set between 4-6 weeks. During the curing period, water evaporates daily creating a harder bar. To ensure proper curing time, soaps are routed weekly.
